Where Do I Send A Defaulted Loan Payment
Before you make a payment to MGSLP, please make sure that your loan has defaulted. If you are delinquent on your student loan, but have not yet defaulted please make your payment to your lender.
MGSLP offers a variety of ways to repay your defaulted loan. Our staff is available to assist you and answer any questions you may have. The available options are as follows:

Only borrowers in DEFAULT should use our on-line payment system. If your loan is simply delinquent, not in default, call or visit your lender's website.
Note: Receiving letters or calls from us does not automatically mean you are in default. Please review the letter carefully before proceeding. If they come from our Default Prevention unit, you are not fully purchased as a default and you should not use the payment system.
If you would like to make a payment on your account after our regular business hours please use our website. You will need to have your bank routing number and account number, or debit or credit card number available to you. For an electronic check payment there will be a fee of $2.50. For payments made with a debit or credit card there will be a fee of $1.00 plus 2.5% of your payment amount. Make a payment here.

Pay By Phone
MGSLP has the ability to accept payments over the phone through an electronic check (e-check) or through a credit or debit card. Please call MGSLP at 800-322-3086 to make your payment. You will need to have your bank account information, or your debit or credit card number available to you when you call. MGSLP does not store your payment information, so you will need to provide it to us each time you call. There is a fee of $2.50 for an e-check payment, and a fee of $1.00 plus 2.5% of your payment amount for a debit or credit card payment. These fees are remitted to our e-payment servicer, and to your debit or credit card companies. These fees are not remitted to MGSLP. MGSLP is able to accept credit card payments from Visa and MasterCard only.

MGSLP will accept other methods of payment, such as a cashier’s check, money orders, personal checks and cash.
Please include your social security number on all correspondence and methods of payment to make sure you receive proper credit. All payments must be received on the agreed date each month. If you have not established a repayment agreement please call 800-322-3086 or send an email. Please make sure to include your current phone number and address. If you would like to pay with cash, please visit our Helena office to drop off your payment. MGSLP does not recommend sending cash through the mail.
